Brian Saylor

Abstract

Introduction. The second response was from Brian Saylor, who has a background in public health and health administration, and is Director of the Institute for Circumpolar Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He has held a variety of other administrative posts in the health field in Alaska and is in demand as a consultant and evaluator. Over the years, he has been involved with a variety of health-related projects that have attempted to make substance abuse treatment, mental health services, or other forms of health care more culturally responsive for Alaska’s Native people. Saylor addresses a variety of topics in his response. As one might expect given his background, Saylor touches on the policy-related issues more than do other presenters. WHA
